Dear Parents/Guardians,
The purpose of this letter is to inform you that your child will take the state required computer-based iMSSA interim assessments, designed by Cognia next week, October 19th through the 23rd. The iMSSA interim assessments are “mini-summative” assessments, designed to mimic the NM-MSSA (New Mexico Measures of Student Success and Achievement; Grades 3-8) State summative assessment in ELA* and mathematics.
iMSSA assessments:
- Track and predict student performance and growth toward grade-level proficiency
- Are aligned to New Mexico Content Standards and the NM-MSSA
- Provide immediate reporting for instructional impact
- Report an overall score and achievement level and a growth measure demonstrating students’ progress
- Three content areas (untimed)
Reading 17-18 items ~50-60 minutes
Language Usage 23 items ~ 35-40 minutes
Mathematics 32-37 items ~ 55-65 minutes
Students who are participating in our Hybrid Learning Model will take the iMSSA assessments on the days they are in the school building.
Students who are participating in our Remote Learning Model will be taking the iMSSA assessments during a designated time with the classroom teacher acting as test proctor via Google Meets Link. Additionally, students will be required to use their school email address to access their testing ticket. Please watch for more information coming from your child’s teacher.
Thank you for supporting your child and encouraging him or her to do his or her best during the test administration.
Sincerely,
Heather Summers, Principal
Tina Webb, Assistant Principal
